Stephanie O’Connor is an Irish writer originally from Bangor, Co. Down, and now based in Wicklow. She writes essays, memoir, fiction and books for children.
Her most recent book, Matters of Life and Death, was published by Haus Publishing in 2026. She won the Hubert Butler Essay Prize in 2025 and the Fish Memoir Prize in 2026. Her shorter work has appeared in The Fish Anthology 2026, The Heroines, Vol. 6 and Mini Plays Review.
She has also written widely for children, including picture books and middle-grade fiction.
Alongside her writing, Stephanie works as a Research Officer at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences.
